How the GPS art generator works
1. Set the place and distance
First, search a location, drop the canvas where you want to run or ride, and choose how far you want to go.
2. Pick or draw the shape
Then take one from the shape library, or draw your own with the custom shape creator.
3. Generate and review
The generator plans the route on the map. Check the lines, adjust the distance or position, and regenerate until it looks right.
4. Export and go
Finally, download the GPX file to your watch or app, or follow it with the GPSArtify tracker. Record the activity, and the map becomes the picture.

Based on your location and preferred shape, our AI finds potential routes for you, and in Smart mode it rates how well an area suits GPS art before you commit to it. So you spend the effort on a neighbourhood that will actually hold the shape, instead of finding out on the day.

GPS art is not tied to one platform. Because the route you generate is a standard GPX file, you can import it into Komoot, Strava Routes, a Garmin watch, a Garmin or Wahoo bike computer, or any app that reads GPX, and then record with Strava, Nike Run Club, Garmin Connect or whatever you already use.

How can I create GPS art?
Plan a route in the shape you want, export it as a GPX file, then follow it while recording with a GPS watch or app, and the recorded map shows the picture. GPSArtify then does the planning part: it either fits the shape to real streets (Urban mode) or lets you follow the line in open ground (Freestyle mode).
Is there a map app where I can draw my own route?
Yes: in GPSArtify you can draw a shape or upload a picture with the custom shape creator, and the generator then turns it into a route on the map. Ordinary route planners let you click point to point, but they do not turn a drawing into a runnable route.
How do I draw my own route on maps?
Open the generator, choose the area and distance, and then either pick a shape from the library or draw your own. Generate, review the lines, and download the GPX file once you are happy with it.
What app can I use to create my own bike route?
For GPS art on a bike, plan the shape in GPSArtify and then export the GPX file to a Garmin or Wahoo bike computer, Komoot, or Strava Routes. Because longer distances suit cycling well, larger shapes across a city become possible.
